DALLAS — Brothers Fried Chicken on Gaston Avenue in East Dallas closed last week, confirms Steve Kazanas, who owned the beloved chicken joint with his brother Jimmy.

"We just shut that down last week," Steve said. "We'd been there for nine years. But we couldn’t make it. Most of our clientele is in the lower income brackets, and with this economy, those are the people who are hit the hardest. Our margins were thin anyway. When you see a 10-15% drop in business, you get so far behind you can't get back."
