This is the foundation Of Dallas Rap Music we have a hip hop history and I think we need to pay this group they respect straight up...verb

Something Fresh - “Oak Cliff“
from Oak Cliff 12″ (Get Off Me Records, 1987)

There’s nothing quite like the hip hop hometown anthem. Something Fresh must’ve had their neighborhood going crazy, shouting out high schools and car washes in and around Oak Cliff, Dallas.

Vocals by MC TNT & Big Al, cuts by Cassanova (Rock) and beats by The Snake. “Snake Beats” instrumental on the flip. The core of Something Fresh would later go on to form the gorilla in the trunk pioneer group Nemesis, along with MC Azim. The Snake also played a big role in producing for sometimes Nemesis member Ron C, inadvertently predicting screw music with the aptly titled “Trendsetter.”
